The little things in life are what matter most to Prince Royce. Or so sings the Dominican-American artist in his brand new single, “Las Cosas Pequeñas,” which hits radio stations and iTunes today. The song is off of Royce’s second bachata album, Phase II, which is set to be released on April 10.

Royce shot the music video for “Las Cosas Pequeñas” recently in New York City, where he was born and raised. In an exclusive interview with Univision’s Primer Impacto, the dimple-faced 22-year-old spoke in depth about his single’s message.

“It’s about the things that perhaps don’t cost much, but have the most value,” he said. “People don’t notice the things that they can do to change someone’s life.”

2011 was a monster year for the young singer/songwriter. Not only did the Prince’s music soar through numerous charts, with his “Corazón Sin Cara” becoming Billboard’s Hot Latin Song of the Year, but his debut album also won him several accolades, including four Latin Billboard Awards. It seems as though the singer is looking to improve on last year’s success.

“I think this album will be very important for my career,” he told Univision. “It will have the same romanticism that worked with the first album, but I think it’s something on another level now,” he added with a smile.

Lend “Las Cosas Pequeñas” an ear and tell us what you think of the song.
